Born in San Francisco, I didn't begin painting until the age of 38.  My husband served in the Air Force for 25 years and as a civilian for 21.  It afforded us, ( my husband, myself and four boys) the opportunity to live in Japan, Spain and England.  It was in Europe that I began painting.  I consider myself fortunate to have been influenced by various European Artists and Styles.  The majority of my work offers various elements of impressionistic styles.  In addition to still life, I enjoy painting landscapes in oil and have extended my efforts in watercolors.  Among my earliest works were the inspirational English Countryside.

Although I am self  taught, I've attended numerous workshops.  Those experiences and through participation in subsiquent painting groups, I've learned a great deal from many talented artists.  One of my most memorable opportunities was to spend a week painting in the footsteps of "John Constable at Flatford Mill in England." I've always admired his work and felt as if I were able to share some of his inspiration.  While living in England I was a member of the Ely Ary Society,  The Bury St Edmunds  Art Society and the Phoenix Art Society.  During that time I was selected to exhibit at the Ely and Bury Cathedrals respectively.

My husband and I moved from there to Montgomery Alabama, where I was a member of the Montgomery Art Society, Sac's Society of Arts and Crafts, The Elmore County Art Society and the APAA (Alabama Plein Aire Artists.)  With the Plein Aire Artists we exhibited at he Alabama State Capital and I was excited to have two of my painting purchased by the Govenor and his wife.

I have also enjoyed discussing art with school children at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, where I volunteered as a docent.  In addition to my works being exhibited at Sac's Gallery in Montgomery,   I have participated in several juried exhibitions.  Montgomery Art Guild shows, Mag Museum shows, Waterfront shows, and Selma Art Guild shows.  I was again fortunate enough to receive several awards such as Best of Show in the Neil Hardiman Memorial Awards Competition.

We now live in Utah, where I belong to the Palette Club of Ogden and the Syracuse Art Guild.  It is nice to be near family and paint the beautiful Utah Landscape..
